New Website – PhotoShelter Review

There are many options for photographers to display and sell  their images online. In my case,  I needed a multifunctional web presence that  would allow me to archive, sell and exhibit my work as well as deliver hi res images to clients instantly. Another requirement was a website that provides the latest marketing and SEO tools. Good customer service was also a must. After researching the various providers and what they offered, I chose PhotoShelter as it matched  my needs best.

Having  joined with PhotoShelter I would have to say it is simple and quick to set up with easy to customize  template themes.  For those who want to take it a step further, manual customization is available.

Crucial to any photographer is the back up of images. The PhotoShelter image archive is excellent. It has the benefit of supporting raw and psd files as well as jpeg and tiff. I no longer have the worry of losing valuable images.

Customer service to date has been first class. The PhotoShelter staff have been professional and helpful.

PhotoShelter in partnership with GraphPaperPress  allows integration of your  WordPress blog with PhotoShelter. As you can see by the image above , I am in currently in the process of integrating the On Assignment WordPress theme offered by GraphPaperPress with my PhotoShelter site. Check back for updates as to how that goes!

    Tanya,

I too just started looking for a pro hosting site. Photoshelter is the only one I’ve found that provides pricing guidelines, all the others seem to require the photographer to price everything him or herself. I don’t want to be bothered with that, and I’m new to photography as a business, so I’m curious to know how you feel about relying on the fotoQuote pricing guide.

    Cheers,

    Carl

  6. Tanya says:

    Hi Carl,
Fotoquote is set at industry standard rates. This is really a baseline from which to work. The photographer can add a percentage mark up on any of the licensing types.
    Cheers,
    Tanya
